We will be conducting a cleanup behind the Bingo Parlor off Decker Blvd between Trenholm Ext and Two Notch Rd in Columbia. Little Jackson Creek flows behind this shopping center. The creek has a lot of trash from the surrounding area in it and much of the trash flows down the creek and ends up in Cary Lake. Click here for a map of the area.
The site is a good site for all ages, because little ones can pick up trash in the parking lot and bigger kids/adults can climb down into the floodplain of the creek and pick up trash there.
Registration is not required.
A waiver (available on site) is required for all volunteers. A parent/guardian must sign a waiver for all volunteers under the age of 18. Unaccompanied youth must be 14 or older. An Adult must stay on site to supervise any youth group of 3 or more.
Keep the Midlands Beautiful will provide trash bags and gloves. Please be sure to wear sturdy, closed toe shoes, dress for the weather and bring work gloves if you have them.
