How are participating Groups Defined?
Neighborhood Assocation - a voluntary organization of residents who work together to improve and maintain the quality of life in their neighborhood. Membership is open to all residents of the neighborhood, but participation is optional. Boundaries are established by the assocation (usually 40-400 households.)
Homeowners Associaton - legal entities created to maintain common areas and enforce private deed restrictions. Most condominium and townhome developments and some newer subdivisions have homeowners associations.
School Groups - any group affiliated with and formally recognized by a public or private institution of learning, including K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.
Civic/Religious/Nonprofit Groups - existing, organized groups who have as one of their goals to promote the common good and general welfare of the community
Adopt-A-Highway/Street Groups - groups currently active in the Adopt-A-Highway/Adopt-A-Street program coordinated by Keep the Midlands Beautiful
