Armstrong, Sheri (Lexington County)
Mentor for: water quality (Lexington County schools only)

My name is Sheri Armstrong and I was born and raised in Knoxville Tennessee.  I am from a large family (9) and while growing up experienced recycling and conservation before it became the “cool” thing to do.  My father owns a salvage yard where he purchases used construction material and cleans/repairs/fixes the items and sells them instead of them being put into the waste stream.  This company is more than 70 years old.  I graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on Waste Management.  In 1997, I moved to Gilbert SC, and currently live in Leesville SC.  I have worked in the private sector and for the past nine years have been employed by Lexington County.  My current job title is Stormwater Manager and we deal with all aspects of stormwater quantity and quality.  I would appreciate the opportunity to be a mentor for all environmental issues.  For convenience any projects in the Lexington, Gilbert, Batesburg/Leesville area would be preferable.  I love the outdoors and use our waterways for peace of mind.
