West, Alana (Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service, Newberry County 4-H)
Mentor for: Recycling and reduction, gardening, composting, water quality, air quality, and soil/land quality

Alana educates youth, ages 5-19, in areas related to agriculture, natural resources, the environment, citizenship, leadership, science and technology, and healthy lifestyles and nutrition through 4-H programs. Alana works with local schools on their recycling efforts, as well as with other local youth organizations. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Economics and a Master's Degree in Agricultural Education, both from Clemson University. She has completed Project Learning Tree training, multiple Action in the Classroom workshops, Project WET Training, and Project WILD Training.
