We have received many calls about donating various items - such as gently used household items, clothes and appliances - to charities. As a result, we've added this partial list of local charities and their donation policy, thanks to The State newspaper. To make a donation, please contact the charity directly; we provide this for information purposes only.
The Cooperative Ministry
Accepts furniture, clothing, books, toys, household items. No appliances or electrical items. Pickup service accepts larger items.
Accepts working appliances, household items, clothing and furniture. No pickup service.
The Habitat Store
Accepts anything except clothing. Provides pickup service.
Accepts working appliances, furniture, clothing, household items. Provides pickup service.

Wont accept large appliances, children's items such as high chairs, cribs and car seats, anything that that runs on gas or fuel, hospital beds, broken or soiled furniture, computers or building materials. No pickup service.

Pickup service will accept anything in good condition; furniture, working appliances, clothing and small household items.
Wont accept torn or stained furniture or mattresses. Call to arrange a pickup.
Pickup service will accept clothing, furniture and household items.
The Salvation Army will accept most items.
With the exception of: built-in appliances, console televisions or stereos, dishwashers, gas stoves, hospital beds, large air conditioners, large computers and copiers, metal box springs, old textbooks and magazines, soiled or torn furniture, waterbeds, water heaters or wet and smelly clothes. Provides pickup service.
