Fall 2008 Student Advisory Board Workshop

When I signed up for the Arbor Day activity at Fort Jackson, I thought it would just be me and the other 4 or 5 kids from Keep the Midlands Beautiful planting trees for 3 hours. When I got there, however, there were close to 30 or 40 other people there. My heart was warmed that so many people would volunteer to work for 3 hours on a cold morning. The project ended up being really fun. I met some new friends from within the Student Advisory Board, I was surrounded by others who were motivated to help, and overall, it felt really good doing it. I hope our actions on that cold morning will impact the life of people at Fort Jackson in the future.
