Fall 2008 Student Advisory Board Workshop
The Harbison State Forest Trail Restoration project was great! Honestly, at first I was thinking this is too early. But when I got to the event, I forgot about the time because I was having so much with the volunteers and my peers. I like the woods, because I'm an outdoor girl. Two other volunteers and I teamed up and as we restored apart of the trail to help reduce water erosion--our job was to carry rocks from the trail to anchor the slope. It was great, it turned out to be like a scavenger hunt, we were trying to see who could find the biggest rock. After hours of hiking and carrying rocks, we carpooled to the gazebo. When we got to the gazebo we all talked about our experience on the trail. I met new friends and made a stronger bond with the friends I already knew. It was a great experience!
