Keep the Midlands Beautiful 2008-2009 Student Advisory Board

Dreher High School students clean up
litter from Rocky Branch Creek, Spring 2008
The KMB Student Advisory Board was created to expand participation in litter prevention, recycling, beautification and sustainable practices among area high school students. 51 students from public and private schools throughout Richland and Lexington counties are taking part in the 2008-2009 Student Advisory Board. Members are required to attend two workshops, to help plan and run a Saturday service project, and to participate in at least one other service project planned by other Student Advisory Board members.
The first workshop for 2008-2009 was held on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Participating students met their fellow Student Advisory Board members, participated in ice breaker activities, and then broke into groups to start planning their community service projects for the year.
All Midlands area high school students are encouraged to welcome and encouraged to take part in the service projects planned by Student Advisory Board members.
